Why measure turbidity?

Why measure turbidity?

It is very important to know the turbidity level especially in the water that is usually for domestic use. This is because, if you decide to apply some water treatment on this domestic water, the treatment can be made inefficient by the turbidity available in the water sample. This is more so during the periods that heavy rains are experienced as the high turbidity levels are likely to block and clog filters, preventing them from working as might be desired. High levels of turbidity can also get the tanks and pipes filled with mud or sometimes silt. This can destroy the turning taps or also the valves. It is important to have a system of measuring the turbidity level especially in domestic waters and also have a way of eliminating it or reducing its percentage.
